Unfiltered Story #205671

(A woman has come over to one of our photo kiosks; she’s been working on it for a few minutes when she waves for my help)

Me: “Yes ma’am, what can I do for you?”

Woman: “It wants me to crop my photos but I’ve never had to crop them before!”

Me: “Oh, well, normally all photos have to be cropped depending on your file size, looks like your picture is too large to fit a 4×6 size and just needs to be cropped a little to fit.”

Woman: “Is (coworker) here?”

Me: “Oh no, he is not.”

Woman: “Is (other coworker) here?!”

Me: “I’m sorry, he isn’t either, it’s just me and a girl who is new to our department.”

Woman: “I wanted someone who actually knew what they were talking about. Someone who’s been here longer. I’ve never seen you before and obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Me: “I’m sorry, I’ve been here 3 years..”

Woman: “Is that so? Then you would know that I don’t HAVE to crop my photos.”

Me: “I’m sorry, I know it’s frustrating, but they do have to be cropped or else the computer won’t let you continue with your order because it can’t fit your picture on a 4×6. You’re only loosing a very small portion of the top and bottom, thankfully.”

Woman: “That’s ridiculous. Cancel my order then, I’ll just come in when one of the boys are working! When will they be in?!”

Me: “I’m terribly sorry, that’s private information that I cannot give out.”

Woman: “whatever, I’ll just be in tomorrow then.”

(She’s going to have the same problem tomorrow. 9 times out of 10 does a photo need to be cropped since it doesn’t fit the size of the picture they want.)
