Unfiltered Story #204375
(It is around 10 p.m. when I get a call from an older woman. It is close to the end of my shift, so I’m fairly worn out and so is my patience.)
Me: “Thank you for calling {company}, my name is {my name}, how can help you?”
Caller: “Hi, my grandson recently bought me this new computer, and I’m having problems going online.”
Me: “What seems to be the problem, ma’am?”
Caller: “Whenever I go to press the little circle with the colors, and I type in the bar, it just gives me more words!”
Me: “Ma’am, that’s what it’s supposed to do.”
Caller: “EXCUSE ME? HOW DARE YOU GET AN ATTITUDE WITH ME YOUNG LADY! I’LL HAVE YOU KNOW I-”
Me: *hands phone to manager, who has heard the entire conversation*
Manager: *breathes in* “MA’AM PLEASE CALL BACK TOMORROW. THE PHONE LINE IS NOW CLOSING.”
(She then hung up the phone and the woman didn’t call again the next day- or ever, for that matter)
