I work in a popular jewelry store known for their crystals. I was doing inventory in the back when my manager and coworker burst in laughing
Me: what happened? (I can hear faint shouts in the store but a senior employee is dealing with it)
Manager: this women lost one of her earrings and wanted us to just give her a new one since she can’t return it
Coworker: I told her that if she lost a shoe the shoe store wouldn’t just GIVE her a new one
Manager: ya what does she expect us to do? If we give her a earring we make the pair unsell-able. We’d be losing money this way
Coworker: besides, this women comes in every couple of days to complain about anything. I spent an hour with her yesterday and she didn’t buy anything
