I ask an older (50ish) couple near the candy aisle if they need any assistance. The wife asks if we sell “turtles” — a candy made with peanuts, caramel, and perhaps nougat, covered in milk chocolate.

I lead them to the boxes of “turtle” candy and explain that during the Christmas holidays we sometimes sell boxes containing cashews or pecans also.

Wife: “Turtle, turtle!”

We all laughed.

Me: “So, a Dana Carvey fan?”

Wife: “Oh, you got that!”

Me: “Yep. Haven’t seen that in awhile.”

If you don’t know, it’s a line from the 2002 comedy movie The Master of Disguise, starring Dana Carvey as the main character, Pistachio Disguisey.
