*I am a female working at one of the bigger chains of video game stores in Washington.*

Man: Hey do you work here?

Me: Certainly, how can I help you?

Man: Are you sure you work here?

*It should be noted that we don’t wear uniforms for this job. Only nametags.*

Me: I can assure you I do. Did you need help finding something?

Man: Yes but I don’t know if I can trust you to help me find it. This isn’t really a female shop.

Me: Nevertheless I can promise you, I work here and am fully versed in all of our stock.

Man: No I think you’re lying to me. I can’t trust you.

*My colleague looks up from where he’s stocking game titles.*

Colleague: She’s right sir. She’s actually been here longer than I have, six years and counting.

Man: Sure, how do I know she didn’t bribe you to say that? For all I know you’re lying as well to cover for her! Girls don’t play video games!

Me: How do you know that?

Man: Huh?

Me: How do you know that for that fact?

Man: Well…cause it’s true.

Me: But how can we trust you on that?

Man: Because…because I’m a man dammit!

Me: Are you? How do I know you’re not lying?

Man: Wha?

Me: How do I know you’re actually a man? Or a human being for that matter? If you won’t trust me or my coworker on anything why should we not doubt everything about you?

Man: Cause…cause…what the hell are you talking about?

Me: I’m merely demonstrating how at some point you have to believe that others are being truthful with you, otherwise you can drive yourself crazy questioning everything about the universe around you.

Man: But…but…uuuhhhhh….

Me: Now would you like to start over again and tell me what you’re looking for?

Man: Uhhh…(Title) for PS4….I think?
