Unfiltered Story #200725

(I’ve been working for a very well known sandwich shop for a few months now. I’m working with a coworker who has about 3 days seniority over me so naturally he’s my boss. I’m just finishing up someone’s sandwich and am counting up change.)

Me: “And your change is [Annoyingly high amount in coins]

(I start to count the change and halfway through I lose track, so I start again. Now finished I go to hand the customer his change back.)

Customer: ” Wow you took awhile counting up that change! Must be why [Coworker] is your boss!”

Me: *Smile drops and I inwardly frown* Have a nice day sir!

(He left and I was in a bad mood for the rest of the night. I may not be the smartest person on the planet but calling my intelligence into question isn’t going to make me feel better.)
