Unfiltered Story #199971

, | Unfiltered | July 8, 2020

(I work in a shoe store that is connected to a nail salon and a pool care place, I’ve never really noticed any smells from the chlorine and acetone but my co-workers do sometimes.)

Customer walks in with her daughter, and makes a comment about how the store smells weird. I told her I don’t really smell it and she says that I’m probably used to it, not having to go in and out all the time. I mention that it’s probably one of the other stores. She interrupts me, looks me straight in the face and says “No, I’m pretty sure it’s [the store’s] cheap shoes!”

Needless to say, when she asked later about a particular shoe, that we had sold out of in store, I didn’t check another store for her.
