A blood culture broke in the tube station so there was glass and blood everywhere in the bag. The bag also had tubes of blood in it. I called the nurse.
Me: “Hi, you’re going to have to recollect blood on patient”____”. The blood culture broke in the tube station. You need a green and lavender tube as well since those were in the bag.
Nurse: what was wrong with the blood? Was is hemolyzed or…?
Me: We are not sticking our hand in a bag of broken glass to get it out *astonished*
