(I work in fast food, and this happens in the drive-thru.)
Auto-Greeter: Hi, welcome to [Restaurant]! Would you like to try our [limited time sandwich] today?
Customer: No. I’d like a small [pop], a [generic sandwich]…
Me: Okay, anything else?
Customer: … and a [limited time sandwich]. That’s it.
Me: … Alright, your total is [total]. We’ll see you at the window.
Manager: Didn’t he say no when the greeter asked him?
Me: Yeah…
(This happens too often.)
