Unfiltered Story #195902

I am a cashier at a wellknown supermarket. I’m working through a line of customers, when an older lady approaches my till.
Me: Hello, how are you today?
Customer: Not bad, thanks
We continue to small talk as I ring through her purchases. I finish up, and she pays and leaves with her cart (leaving her bags at the end of my register).
I say nothing as I figure she had her reasons, and begin helping the next customer in line (customer #2).
Suddenly, the woman comes rushing back in.
Customer: EXCUSE ME! BUT WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY GROCERIES?
Me: * slightly confused* They’re right there ma’am. *gesturing towards the bags at the end of the register.
Customer: *smiles sheepishly* Oh, thank you.
She takes her purchases and leaves the store, heading towards her car; which a coworker and I had noticed did not have any other occupants inside, meaning that she had driven herself there.
Coworker: I’m honestly quite terrified right now. That woman has no bussiness being on the road after that.
Customer: Couldn’t have said it better myself.
