Unfiltered Story #194479

(I’m the dumb one in this story. I’m at the Saturday flea market that’s held downtown for a few weeks in the summer, in the process of looking at a display of various silver rings offered by a jewelry vendor, when another customer steps up beside me at the same counter and starts looking at decorative pins. After a few minutes, she brings a few of the pins to the vendor’s attention.)

Customer: “How much are these?”

Vendor: *Takes a quick look* “Five dollars apiece.”

Me: “How much for a whole one?”

Vendor: *without missing a beat* “Also five dollars.”

Me: “…” *laughs a bit* “I’m sorry… I don’t even know where that came from.”

(I managed to get away without embarrassing myself further, but I made sure to buy one of the rings before I left. It’s a bit big on me, but I do like it… and the weight of it serves as a nice reminder to think before I open my big mouth. ^_^)
