Unfiltered Story #193789

I’m working the grill during the lunch rush at a fast food restaurant. I can hear the customer ordering over the speaker in drive-thru.

Customer: I’ll take a number four (a cheeseburger meal) with a Pepsi, please.

There’s a pause as I assume the person working speaker is asking if she wants anything else.

Customer: Well, yes. Um… huh. Uh… how… do I order just a cheeseburger?

I could do nothing but stare down at the grill, marveling at the question. I’ve worked fast food for almost 11 years now, and that is officially the stupidest thing anyone’s ever asked.
