Unfiltered Story #193292

I used to work in the plumbing department of a home improvement store. I regularly dealt with customers who had very significant plumbing problems and no skills. Invariably, they’d come ask me how to fix a problem in their house.

I’d explain the materials and work involved, and explain to them how to do it. They’d then cut me off to say it cost too much, and that they weren’t capable of doing the job. They would then proceed to look around for the quickest bodge they thought they could pull off, such as tape for a leaky pipe.

Eventually, the customer service veneer wore thin. When people would ask me: “What’s the easiest way to do this?”, I began answering: “Get someone else to do it.”
