Unfiltered Story #192954

(My small company sells stone, and we’ve been in business for 25+ years. Before about 2009, all records were kept by hand on paper. I had this conversation after setting up a normal delivery for a customer.)

Me: “Well I’ve all the information I need for your delivery, all that’s left is for you to come pick out the material tomorrow. Is there anything else I can help you with?”

Customer: “Actually yes. About 20 years I bought a bunch of stone in advance from you guys and picked it up a pallet or two at a time. I actually never picked up the last pallet I paid for, and I was hoping to get a discount on this purchase.”

*I was speechless for a few seconds at this bizarre request. I told him that since we had no computer records then and no longer had the individual handwritten sales tickets that we would not be able to credit him.*
