Unfiltered Story #192218

, , | Unfiltered | April 18, 2020

(Note: I work for a popular fast food chain and not even two days ago, everyone received a new revised handbook with some new policies. One of the biggest changes was with cell phone usage, and it was made clear not to have cell phones on you or in the office, and not to bring phone chargers with you to work as well.)

I’m working with the cashier during our rush hour and our manager is nearby as well. I’m beginning to ring up a customer when a woman runs up to us.)

Woman: DOES ANYONE HERE HAVE A PHONE CHARGER? (She’s holding a very old and worn flip phone).
Me: Um…. no…
Woman: Are you sure?
Me: Yes, in fact we’re not even allowed to bring them to work anymore.
Woman: (She gives me an incredulous look and I can tell she thinks I’m just lying) You’re not allowed to bring your chargers to work?
Me: That’s right. It’s actually a really new policy that we just got a few days ago!
(My manager nods in the background, and the woman leaves just as quickly as she came in)

Question of the Week
