(In my store the bathrooms are at the front near the registers, not in or near any department. I’m on my lunch break and exit the women’s bathroom, finding myself face-to-face with a stern-looking man waiting directly outside the door. He stares at me for a moment without moving, leaving me trapped in the doorway and then:)

Customer: Hey! Where is your vegetable aisle?
Me: Are you looking for fresh, canned or frozen veggies?
Customer: (after another moment of staring) I don’t f—–g have time for this!

(He leaves, allowing me to exit the bathroom. Later I’m working in a aisle that includes some high-theft items. I look up and see the same man a few feet away, staring intently at me.)

Me: Can I help you find something, sir?
Customer: You can f— off!

(I return to my work but he just stands there, still staring. Feeling uncomfortable and wondering if he wants me to leave so he can shoplift, I go to the backroom and call security. Our cameras showed him exiting the store as soon as I walked away.)
