(At my supermarket there is a promotion on bakery items that runs pretty much all year round. It’s 3 big, specific items for £1 or 5 selected rolls for £1. Since almost all the bakery goods are included in the deal, we’ll generally put them through on a deal for someone anyway. But we have to know the code to put into the till for each bakery item. This happens almost every single time someone buys bakery items in the deal.)

Me: *picks up PLU sheet to look for bakery items*

Customer: Oh, they’re 3 for £1/5 for £1.

Me: Yes, they’re always on offer. I just need the code for them for the till.

Customer: Oh. Ok.
