Unfiltered Story #18659

My mother’s sister married a deranged man who kept our aunt and cousin away from us, even though we lived in the same city. Hence, I didn’t get to talk to my cousin until we were in our late 50’s when I moved back to town.

My mother’s brother was a disabled veteran, who lived-in another city. He passed away in 1983. My cousin and I were discussing him. Let the record show, he did not like children. (Us!)

Cousin: “When I was a freshman in high school, I had to write a report about someone who had overcome difficulties in life. I wrote about Uncle B and how he came home from the war and could drive and get around with adaptive equipment.”

Me: He would have been so honored. I wish he had known..

Wish he had known.
