When a patient orders contacts it usually takes about 3 days for them to arrive at our office, we then call the patients to let them know their contacts are here and they have to come pick it up. We only allow contacts to be on the shelf for so long and we give numerous warnings to have them come pick them up.

Me: (to my boss) These contacts have been on the shelf for several months now I am going to restock them.

Literally 3 days later

Customer: Hi I’m (*****) and I’m here to pick up my contacts.

Me: I’m sorry but we restocked those just a few days ago.

Customer: Why the hell would you do that?

Me: We gave you several warnings stating that you needed to come and pick up your contacts.

Customer: Well I want a refund.

Me: We can’t do that for you.

Customer: Why not?

Me: We still had to pay for the contacts even though you never picked them up so it isn’t going to be our responsibility to pay for something we don’t need.

Customer: Well you just lost a customer.
