Unfiltered Story #18641

Unfiltered | May 3, 2017

I suffer terrible anxiety around phone calls and phoning people, among other things, which caused me to fail at an important job task (that I never wanted and was blunt about doubting my ability to do) and anger basically everyone above me. Meetings happen. During this whole thing I am also spending a lot of time away, as I’ve been auditing another company.

At the end of the audit I hold a meeting to discuss my results with all of the other company’s management. When I’m done and have answered all the questions, that company’s president looks at me and says, “You did a great job. You should feel really good about the work you did.”

I don’t think my stress was showing on my face, and he didn’t need to support some girl who isn’t his employee. I feel like he really appreciated my hard work and his words really do make me feel better. Thank you sir. You helped give me a little confidence back during a rough time.
