Cashier: Well, I found out yesterday I have patent ductus arteriosus and can have a procedure to have it closed. On top of that my boyfriend broke up with me.

Guest: He broke up with you because of that?

Cashier: No, he already knew about that

Guest: I’m sorry to hear that. You have a good day.

Cashier: I’ll try my best

NEXT DAY

Guest: How are you doing today?

Cashier: Still not the best

Guest: I’m sorry to hear that. Look, I need $10 in gas and I’ll be right back.

Cashier puts the $10 pre-pay for gas and waits for the guest to return.

Guest comes back in with flowers.

Guest: These are just to see you smile.
