I and a friend stopped at the local taco place for a quick bite. Inside in line, at the register is a woman who looked as though she had some developmental issues. Behind her in line stood a gentleman with two young men, one of whom showed signs of Down syndrome. The woman in line had finished ordering her food, but came up short on her money, The gentleman stepped up to explain that she needed to either pay more money or change her food order. She said “I want all my food.” The gentleman then reached into his wallet pulled out a twenty and paid for her food. Later as my friend and I sat in my car eating the gentleman and the two young men came out and got into a beat-up rusted out older model Mazda. Those who help the most are those who have been through the same difficulties.
