Unfiltered Story #18420

Unfiltered | April 18, 2016

(I’m in church with my husband and our two year old son. Toward the end of the hour long service, my son is understandably getting restless, to the point of arguing loudly with us? The family sitting behind us has quietly interacted with him a few times, even handing him one of their children’s books after my son gets tired of his quiet book and coloring stuff. My son starts getting out of control, so my husband takes him out of the room. At the end of the service, the mother touches my shoulder and whispers in my ear.)

Mother: Now, this is just my opinion… But, you are doing a very good job.

Me: *turning to talk to her* Thank you. It’s a struggle.

Mother: *indicating to her teenaged children* I know. It’s still hard, but it does get better.”

(Days like this make me so grateful for the kindness of others.)
