(It’s half an hour after closing, and I’m counting the tills when the phone rings. I should note that, as with most stores in the area, we close a little earlier on Sundays than we do on the rest of the days in the week.)
Me: Thank you for calling [Store], this is [Name].
Customer: Yea, are you closed?
Me: Yes sir, we are.
Customer: Why?
Me: *Momentarily speechless* … Because we closed at six?
Customer: Oh, six on Sundays? I didn’t know. *click*
(It still baffles me that rather than a: look at the hours on the window if he was apparently outside or b: google our hours if he wasn’t, his first instinct was to call the store.)
