I work in a library where we offer Rapid Reads, new, popular books that have a short loan period. They are identified by a sticker on the front. We also keep them separate from the rest of the collection so customers don’t get confused.

A customer come to the counter asking about the books loan period. Three are normal whilst one is a Rapid Read.

Lady: (referring to the Rapid Read), does this book have a normal loan period?

Me: No, that is a Rapid Read, it has a ten day loan period mam’am

Lady: But it was in the collection?

Me now understanding that it was in the wrong section: Well sorry ma’am but it must have been shelved incorrectly….
