Unfiltered Story #181161

(I’ve jumped on till to help ease the lines. Three customers come over, and the first transaction is a little slow. Finally it’s the third customer’s turn, who is wearing the uniform of another retail store next door and rolling her eyes at the slow customer.)

Me: “Hi, how are you today?”

Her: *sounding annoyed* “I’m okay.”

(I ring in her one item. We do have a self checkout that’s perfect for one or few item purchases.)

Her: “I thought this line would go quicker.”

Me: “Ahh. Well, that’s [total] today.”

(She proceeds to pull out some coins, and is in no rush getting me the exact change. I was surprised at her impatience from a retail worker’s perspective, and at her hypocrisy!)
