(I work for a dealership that sell mostly used cars. We take trade-ins as well but most of them go to the auction after a couple weeks if they don’t sell. They are still listed on our website but they say “At the auction. Currently still for sale.” The following conversation takes place when I accept a live chat on our website.)

Me: Hello, my name is David. How can I help you today?

Customer: I’m interested in [CAR] listed on your website for $9,999. Is that still available?

Me: yes it is but unfortunately it is down at the auction.

Customer: Can I come to see it? What time do you close?

Me: We close at 6 pm but as I said the vehicle is not at the dealership it is at the auction?

Customer: Oh. So when can I come see it?

(Face palm.)
