(My grandmother, a family friend from way back, and I are all sitting together at a restaurant. My grandmother pulled out her smartphone, and was trying to show the family friend how to use it.)

Grandmother: No, no you push this button here.

Family Friend: And how do you turn up the volume?

(The waitress comes over and looks at me. We both begin to giggle and we are trying to stifle our laughter. After she takes our order, I go and sit by the fire. The waitress takes a quick break to talk to me.)

Waitress: Your grandparents are adorable, you know that? (She mistakes the family friend for my grandmother’s husband.)

Me: (Playing along.) Yeah. Yeah they are, aren’t they?
