Unfiltered Story #172078

(I am a cashier at a popular chain store that just recently got self checkouts a few months ago, but I’ve been with these machines since we got them. This day, I’m working part of my shift watching over them for people who need help.)

Me: And then you’ll just hit “finish and pay” so it will process your transaction fully.

Guest: *rudely* I don’t have to have to hit that. It’ll go through just fine.

Me: Ok.

(I stand back and wait, trying not to grin. Since he is the only one there, I watch him stand there for a full minute, staring at the PIN pad, waiting for it to do something. Finally he hits the button I told him to and the payment goes through.)

Me: *as he leaves* Have a nice day!
