Unfiltered Story #167661

(I am 17 and working the register when I see a classmate of mine come up to me. He is known to hang his water bottle, with a reasonably large cap, from his cheek, and I see one of the bruises the bottle leaves.)
Me: Hey, [Classmate]. Nice bruise.
Classmate: Oh, god, is it still there?
(I explained the situation to my coworker, who was utterly baffled! Out of context, the situation seemed like abuse!)
