Unfiltered Story #153736

, | Unfiltered | June 5, 2019

(I’m the customer in this story. I have a big basket full of items at checkout and am making conversation with the cashier.)
Cashier: *ringing through ice cream, nail polish, and assorted beauty products* “Wow, looks like someone’s headed for a home spa day!”
Me: “Yeah, my fiancé and I broke up over the weekend so I’m treating myself a bit.”
Cashier: “Oh wow, I’m really sorry about that…”
(She suddenly stops talking to me altogether, I look up and see her holding the hunting knife from the bottom of my basket and staring at me in surprise.)
Me: “I swear to god that I’m not going to kill my ex fiancé. I left my old knife at his place. I promise you.”
(I’m not sure she believed that I was not indeed going to kill my ex.)
