(I work in a Hockey Rink, mostly doing concession and score keeping. While doing concession, an older lady comes up to me to ask a question.)

Her: Hi, did you guys find any hockey gloves? My son lost his.

Me: Not that I know of. What brand and color are they?

Her: I don’t know. I think they were black.

Me: Let me go ask my manager if we found any. (I was score keeping all morning)

Manager: (after I asked) Nope, we didn’t have any returned.

Her: Oh, we left them at home.

Manager: (to me discreetly after she leaves) Why would you ask if you left them at home?
