Unfiltered Story #146002

I work at the customer service counter in a chain grocery store. Our lotto machine was down for 2 days. I put up signs and told customers as they approached the booth. A woman comes in to cash some scratch tickets. I watched her read my sign and she set her tickets on the counter. I apologized for the machine being down and being unable to cash her tickets.
Me: sorry I can’t cash your tickets our machine is down at the moment.
Customer: no it’s not.
Me: I’m sorry but it is down right now. These stores nearby can cash them for you though.
Customer: it’s not down but whatever (storms off)
