Unfiltered Story #142124

I’m covering for a shift at one of the information desks. I take calls and transfer them to the appropriate unit or number. I get a call from a lady and it went like this.

Lady: I am looking for (Patient’s name), I believe she is in the 10th floor.

Me: ….We don’t have a 10th floor here, we only have until the 5th.

Lady: oh, well I’m not sure if she’s been transferred but her sister said she is there, the 10th floor.

Me: Ma’am, you are calling the (Name of Hospital), we only go up to the 5th floor. Are you sure she’s here?

Lady: YES, her sister said so! (Name of Hospital I work at), the 10 FLOOR!

Me: As much as I would like to find her in the hospital, I cannot because she isn’t here and there isn’t a 5th floor. You are calling the (Name of Hospital), Ma’am. Maybe you mean (name of another Hospital at the other end of the city).

Lady: Oh….Oh, maybe you’re right. (hangs up).
