Unfiltered Story #135129

About a year ago, I was working at an office supply chain. Due to unusual circumstances, I was wearing my work clothes name tag and all to pick up cat food about 3 hours away from where I live/work. I walked in front of an electronic store on my way to the super market and they had not opened yet but there was a sale which warranted a sizable crowd. An older lady grabbed my arm mid-stride and pulled me to face the crowd. She insinuated that I worked there…
Lady: Do you have any idea how much money you are losing by not letting us in?
Me: (Having realized that I get to the nature of the situation pretty much instantly) Then take your ass back to your car and go shop somewhere else.
(At this point, I free my arm and start walking away towards the super market)
Lady: Excuse me?
Me (turning back to face her): Don’t act like you didn’t hear me. We don’t want your business. Go somewhere else.
Lady: Well if that’s the way it is, I’ll just talk to your manager about this. (Nobody in the crowd has pointed out that I am wearing a completely different uniform from the ones that are worn there).
Me: Sure. You go ahead and tell him, and while you’re at it, you can also tell him that (my name) says (and I just made a vulgar expression involving my crotch).
With various laughs and snickers behind her and her own berating being replaced with jaw-dropping silence, I went on my way hoping that nobody with my name (uncommon name around here) worked there.
