Unfiltered Story #118471

(A customer who does not know English comes to my register.)

Me: “How is your day going today?”

Customer: “Debit.”

Customer bagging her groceries: *wants to burst out laughing but tries to discreetly laugh*

Me: How is your day, ma’am?

Customer: Debit

(still not realizing my question, the customer keeps saying debit when i ask her about her day, and the customer bagging her groceries is snickering and i am trying to hold in my laughter)

Me: OK, your totals 12.96

Customer: I pay debit.

(She pays her debit, and me and the customer bagging her groceries burst out laughing, luckily there were no other customers behind the debit customer.)
