Unfiltered Story #113861

I work at a Pet Store and on Sundays we close early at 6 and its common to have people come late trying to get in. On this night we have been closed for 20 minutes and I’m collecting carts. I bring the first load in and a co-worker asks if I can come look at an animals she believes is ill. I slide the doors shut but don’t lock them because I have more carts. We are both in the habitat looking at the animal.

Customer: Hello…Hello…HELLO!!!!

Confused I go out and see a woman by the fish, impatiently tapping her foot.

Me: Hi, how can I help you?

Customer: Where the hell is everybody?!? There is no one at the register and no one to grab my mealworms. This place is horrible. Your doors are even broken, I had to pull them open.

Me: Actually we closed 20 minutes ago. That’s why no one is around and why the doors don’t open, I shut them off.

Customer: How am I supposed to know that?

The empty parking lot, huge sign on the door and doors being shut off wasn’t a hint I guess.

Me: I’m very sorry ma’am but we are closed and we need to continue shutting down so we can all go home.

Customer: So I can’t get my mealworms? My beardie doesn’t have any food and I can’t get them anywhere else!

I see that there is still a register open so I grab the worms from the back and ring her up. She leaves without saying thank you and still has an attitude. A couple of weeks later she did the same thing but I had the doors locked so she banged on them expecting me to open and let her in again. I ignored her until she left.
