(I’m serving a foreign customer, when he notices my name tag.)

Customer: Oh, you’re name is Sandy? My name is Sandy too!

Me: Really? That’s cool!

Customer: I’ve been getting a lot of weird looks here. It’s a guy name where I’m from. But it’s spelled differently then yours. I guess it would be pronounced differently too.

Me: If you tell me how it’s spelled I could tell you what would we pronounce it like.

(He shows me his name on the credit card and I tell him the pronounciation.)

Customer: Hey, that rhymes with jedi!

Me(chuckling): It does sir. Maybe you’re secretly a jedi?

Customer: Maybe I am! You just made my day!

(He left me a $30 tip!)
