Unfiltered Story #106944
I had a minor congenital disorder that prevents pregnancy until corrected. Between diagnosis and surgery for this disorder, I had to have emergency surgery at a completely different hospital. They allowed me to skip the pregnancy test on the grounds of me not being able to get pregnant.
When I went in to get the corrective surgery, they insisted I had to take the pregnancy test… even though the surgeon was also the one who diagnosed me, and knew I wasn’t even sexually active, much less capable of pregnancy.
I realize it’s an important and routine procedure, but it’s still amusing how different hospitals and doctors handle similar situations.
