Working in cardiology, it never ceases to amaze how little care there is around diet and exercise amongst a staff who deal with atherosclerosis, hypertension and heart attacks on a daily basis. Here’s a special gem.

Several workers are eating cheesecake in the staff room. One of the cardiologists pokes his head in.

Cardiologist: We have cheesecake?

Staff: yeah, it’s (name)’s birthday. Want a piece?

Cardiologist: Yes, please, but I have to eat fast. (Eating cheesecake very rapidly) I have to go do an echocardiogram, and then put a stent in an artery.

It didn’t seem to phase him at all.
