Teacher: So when the cannonball is over the table, it has gravitational potential energy. When it’s over the floor, it has more. Say I punched a hole through the floor, it will have even more gravitational potential energy. And if there was a hole to the center of the earth, it would have a lot more.
Student: How far is it to the center of the earth?
Teacher: ….Far.
