Half The Class Will Be Ca-Tectonic

(In the Netherlands, you can finish high school in five or six years, depending on your level — The higher the level, the more years it takes. When you graduate from third year, you’re required to pick a profile, which will determine what classes you will follow. I’ve picked a profile that requires me to follow geography, even though I hate it, but I couldn’t get around it. This is what happens during our first class of geography.)

Teacher: *cheerfully* “Welcome to Geography. I’m glad there’s so many people here, that’s unusual. Out of curiosity, how many of you picked Geography out of interest?”

(Silence.)

Teacher: *a bit taken aback* “…No-one?”

Student: *a kid from the back* “We had to! It was this or reshuffle your entire profile! This was easier!”

Teacher: *grasping* “But… doesn’t anyone here like Geography?”

Entire Class: “NO!”
