Science Is Dead
(I am twelve. Our teacher is teaching us about living things. There is a student in our class who gets sent to the office almost every week.)
Science Teacher: “So, a characteristic of a living thing is that it grows and develops.”
Student: “But a goldfish doesn’t grow!”
Teacher: “Yes. Yes, they do.”
Classmate: “Did you think they just popped into existence?”
Student: “Uh, but when you’re dead you don’t grow! BOOM!”
(He sits back looking incredibly smug.)
Teacher: *face meets desk*
