Babying You In Just The Right Way

(The pregnancy has been going very well in terms of the baby, but the symptoms have been very uncomfortable, and I’ve been complaining for six months, pretty much every day.)

Me: “Where’s my pregnant glow? I’m supposed to be radiant and glowing, and it’s not happening. Do you think my aura is glowing and expectant?”

Husband: “No, more of dark and intimidating.” *pause, hands me ice cream* “There’s more ice cream in the freezer for when you want it.”

(He also gives three am back rubs upon demand. I think the baby and I will be well taken care of.)
