The Flag Was The First Red Flag

(The second time I met my now-husband, he had to restrain me from setting a bunch of anti-war protesters on fire, as they themselves had just desecrated our country’s flag – an offense I take rather seriously. Fast forward nine years, about four years after our wedding. I joke that he has to be a brave, strong man to put up with me.)

Me: “Have I ever frightened you?”

Husband: “Once or twice.”

Me: “Like when?”

Husband: “Were you really going to set those guys on fire?”

Me: “Which guys?”
