(We are reading The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, taking turns. It’s my turn.)
Me:”Tom Sawyer-”
Teacher:(Breaking me off) “Read it again.”
Me:”But why, ma’am?”
Teacher:”You just called it “Tim Sawyer”.
Me:”No, ma’am, I’m pretty sure I called it “Tom”.
Teacher:” NO! YOU CALLED IT “TIM”! READ IT AGAIN!”
(At the end of the year, she apologised to everyone, saying that she scolds us just because she loves us.)
