(We have begun a unit based on classical Greece in world history. The PowerPoint for this unit begins with a title slide displaying a variety of busts from the era while playing a seemingly-ancient Greek song with a screeching horn melody. The song goes on for a few seconds until a thought bubble reading “Man, our music really sucks” pops up above one of the busts and the song ends.)
Teacher: “That was an Ancient Greek hit known as ‘My Dying Cat.’ Luckily, very few pieces of Greek music survived for today.”
(He then offered to play the song again, which we refused).
