(I teach eighth grade language arts and we have just finished working on blogs in class. One of my students noticed that someone had been viewing her page and wanted to see where they were from. She finds the map of the world and stares at it for a moment. She then points at Alaska.)
Student #1: “Ms. [Name], what country is this?”
(I was in complete shock that my advanced student didn’t know the answer and another student spoke before I could.)
Student #2: “That’s Alaska, stupid.”
(I couldn’t bring myself to reprimand Student #2…)
