Mom: [My name], show me ‘arms akimbo.’
Me: (stand up and put my hands on my hips)
Mom: Are you sure it’s not this (crosses her arms across her chest)?
Me: No, ‘akimbo’ is hands on the hips, elbows out.
Mom: Well, ANTS can’t put their hands on their hips!
Me: I’m pretty sure that if ants can’t put their hands on their hips, they can’t cross their arms over their chests, either.
Mom: Oh, I guess not. (Walks away)
Me: (to no one in particular) What were we just talking about?!?
