(We’re in English class and our teacher is known to tell us small anecdotes about her life. This is in the middle of a lecture.)
Teacher: “Hey! Who’s 5’8″ in here?”
Classmate: “Um… I think I am. Why?”
Teacher: “Stand up for me, please.”
(He stands up.)
Teacher: “Okay, thank you. I was asked out on a date and the guy said he was 5’8″. I wanted to see how tall that was.”
(Class resumes as normal.)
